Our lab is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Research Staff Assistant. The successful candidate will assist in research projects under the guidance of the PI, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows in the laboratory. Responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): histology, confocal microscopy, stereotaxic surgery, animal colony management, and routine laboratory management duties. The models we work with are mice and weakly electric fish. Projects on which the Research Assistant might work include (but are not limited to): the role of the cerebellum in feeding behavior, adaptive filtering in the auditory brainstem, and cerebellar prediction and filtering of self-generated sensory inputs. The Research Assistant may have the opportunity to work on studies for publication in competitive research journals. A bachelor's degree in a science-related field is a minimum qualification. Prior research laboratory experience is highly desired.
